GTC Berlin: the AI infrastructure conversation

NVIDIA’s keynote page brings together Jensen Huang’s GTC Berlin address and the accompanying pregame. The programme spans sovereign and enterprise AI and the companies building with it. For cluster operators, it is a useful starting point for tracking the workloads and platform direction shaping infrastructure decisions.

WEKApod: storage belongs in the GPU conversation

WEKApod combines purpose-built hardware with WEKA NeuralMesh software in an integrated data platform for AI infrastructure. The relevant question for a GPU cluster is the whole data path: can storage keep up with dataset reads, checkpoint bursts and model loading? Size and validate it against the actual workload.

ROBOTICS / POLLEN

Microduck: small robot. Big soft spot.

We fell a little in love with Microduck. It’s a tiny, 25 cm robot from Pollen Robotics that you can teach new tricks—and honestly, just look at it. Underneath all that charm is an open-source platform for reinforcement learning: train a behaviour in simulation, try it on the real robot, and keep tinkering. This is the kind of research that makes us smile.
